//.what_it_means

When an AI recommends you, the right clients arrive already sold.

They asked an engine who to trust, and it named you — a warmer introduction than any ad can buy. Win those clients and your cost to serve drops; keep winning them and it compounds into an asset rivals can’t copy.

And in finance, law and health, the bar is higher: engines only put forward firms they can trust — and every word has to clear the rules. That’s exactly what Avouch builds.

Your firm sits at the centre of its data universe, cited across the AI engines Avouch covers — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Google AIO, Copilot.

How you become the answer

  1. Understand you

An engine can't recommend a firm it can't identify. The first thing we do is make you unmistakable to it — the difference between being in the running and being invisible.
  2. Trust you

Existing isn't the same as being trusted. We build the credibility an engine weighs, so when it decides who to put forward, it has every reason to pick you.
  3. Quote you

AI answers in passages, not links. We get your firm into the sources it quotes — so your name lands in the actual reply, where your client sees it.

What your buyers ask AI, who it recommends today, and where the engines get their answers — your Recommendation Index baseline included.

Foundations

Your Entity Home, knowledge graph and schema — so an engine can identify you with no doubt.

Content & citations

Passage-level content an engine can lift, plus the off-site mentions that make it trust the source.

Automation & compounding

AI workflows that run it at scale, share-of-voice tracking, and a first-party data moat you own.

The deliverable isn’t the report. The result is being recommended.

I started Avouch because good firms kept losing to louder ones. Being a best-kept secret is just losing politely — so we fix the part the AI actually reads, and we tie it to the only number that matters — your Recommendation Rate™: how often you're the answer.

Questions firms ask

What is GEO, and how is it different from SEO?
GEO — Generative Engine Optimisation — is the work of getting your firm named when an AI is asked who to recommend. SEO tries to rank a page on a list. GEO tries to be the answer. Strong search helps, but ranking first and being recommended aren't the same thing.
Is this just SEO with a new name?
No, though good SEO helps. Search ranks pages; AI names firms and cites sources. We work the signals an engine uses to decide who to recommend — entity clarity, retrievable content, third-party citations — most of which a normal SEO programme never touches. Where they overlap, we use it.
Will my firm actually show up in ChatGPT?
That's the first thing the Recommendation Index measures. We baseline where you appear today across seven engines, name who's getting recommended instead, and set out the work to change it. Recognition builds over months, not days. The Recommendation Index tells you honestly how far you are.
What does the Recommendation Index include?
A baseline of where you stand across seven engines, a read on why you're not getting recommended, and a prioritised plan — keep, start, stop — sequenced over four quarters. It arrives as a written report you can hand straight to your partners — the sample we publish in full runs to 20 pages.
How long does it take?
5–7 working days from the point we have what we need from you.
What if we don't see any lift?
The Recommendation Index tells you honestly whether there's a path to lift. If there isn't, we'll say so — and you're under no obligation to go further. You'll know in days, not months.
Do you work with firms in my sector?
We work with regulated, high-trust UK firms across finance, law and health — IFAs, accountants, wealth managers, law firms and the advisers who serve them. The method is the same for any firm AI gatekeeps; the sources, the queries and the benchmarks are specific to yours.

AI can't recommend what it doesn't know.
